Designer Tip 1

USING RUGS ON YOUR WALLS

These are one of the most underrated ways to add that royal texture and colour to your wall. Sometimes it’s a shame to use a beautiful, intricately designed rug as a rug….

I know it sounds strange, but have you ever thought of getting the rug framed or simply using it as your master feature by hanging it on the wall. This design technique can be used for a residential as well as a commercial space. A café with rugs framed beautifully on the walls just makes the café even warmer and cosier.

USE WALL AS A BACKDROP

Hanging, placing items in front of the wall by the making the wall as backdrop is an under rated feature, but has amazing results if done well.

Hanging plants in front of a wall, by using the wall as a backdrop is something that isn’t permanent and makes the wall interesting.

You can change the hanging elements to decorative objects, plants, pots, cups, etc. There is so much you can do with the light falling on these walls with the objects in from of it to make it ever-changing.

Playing with textures, light and shadow and using the wall as a backdrop is definitely a designer twist to your space.

Designer Tip 3

A WALL FULL OF SHELVES

Wall shelves add display or storage space in any given room in the house. These shelves can be partly used for function and partly for styling.

Shelves in different sizes, shapes and styles add depth to a wall and painting the shelfs can really change the whole game and make the space look designer and well thought off.

Designer Tip 5

WALL LIGHTING USED A WALL ART

Scones, wall lighters and neon lights add the much needed drama and X-factor to a wall. these wall become a focal point and can look different when the lights are turned on. Your regular plain wall, wallpapered wall or even a green wall can sometimes look very repetitive or monotonous, such light fittings and ideas can help to lighten and make the wall look attractive.
